For lovers of Porto and Douro wine

The Douro Valley is the birthplace of Port wine. Classified by UNESCO as a Patrimony of Humanity, the Douro Valley is the birthplace of Port wine and the world’s first Demarcated Wine Region. Wine lovers will need, at least, two nights to be able to explore the entire region and try the different styles that Douro proposes. Where to stay? Nothing more suitable than an old house, now transformed and adapted to a magnificent hotel with comfortable interiors and an incomparable view over the river and the vineyards in Socalcos – or The Vintage House. This experience suggests various wine tastings and adds special conditions when buying wine in the hotel room. There will be no reason not to take your favourite wines as a souvenir of an unforgettable stay at The Vintage House.

Experience includes:

– Two nights stay in a room or suite with a panoramic view over Douro River
– Breakfast served in the breakfast room
– A Welcome Port wine per adult upon arrival
– A Wine Lover Experience per stay and a picnic at Quinta da Roêda*
– An audio guide tour, per stay, at Quinta do Panascal with a Port wine tasting**
– Credit to spend at the Bar and Restaurant (Food and Drinks) per room per stay***
– 10% price reduction on all wine purchases above 30€ in The Vintage House wine shop
– Cocktail per stay at the Library Bar
– Access to the outdoor pool with magnificent views over the Douro River (available from April to October)
– Use of the tennis court (rackets and balls included)

Upon booking a Master Suite:

– Mini bar included
– VIP treatment in the room upon arrival

Rates per night from:

– Standard Room (river view): 290€
– Junior Suite: 320€
– Deluxe Suite: 360€
– Master Suite: 420€

The above rates refer to double occupancy.

Conditions:

*Wine Lover Experience and a picnic at Quinta da Roêda:
Includes a tour and a commented tasting of five Croft Port wines: Croft Port Pink & Tonic, Croft Pink, Croft Late Bottled Vintage, Croft 10 Year Old Tawny Port, Croft 20 Year Old Tawny Port, Croft Vintage Quinta da Roêda and also a picnic with a Premium Basket included.
Transport to the vineyard is not included and the picnic location is subject to climatic conditions.
**Quinta do Panascal Experience:
Includes an audio-guided tour through the vines and traditional lagares, as well as a commented tasting of three Fonseca Port wines: Siroco, Bin 27 and a 10 Year Old Tawny Port.
Transport to the vineyard is not included.
Special services included are highly recommended to be booked in advance (minimum 2 days) in order to guarantee availability.

***Credit equivalent to the total amount of €25 per stay, from November to April inclusive, and €15 per stay, from May to October inclusive. Credit not applicable on services/benefits already included in the Experience.

The above mentioned rates are inclusive of tax and the Experience is subject to limited room and rate availability, and modifications without prior notice.

Children:

One extra bed or cot per Standard Room (up to 1 child) and two extra beds or two cots per Junior Suite or Master Suite (up to 2 children).
Children’s supplements are not automatically calculated at the time of booking – upon prior notice, they will be reserved and added to your invoice at Check-Out.

Until 29th December 2024:
For children between 3 and 11 years old, inclusive, a supplement of 44€, per child, per night will be charged.

From 1st January 2025 to 30th December 2025/2026:
For children between 3 and 11 years old, inclusive, a supplement of 46€, per child, per night will be charged.

Cancellation Policies

Credit card guarantee is compulsory. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise guests’ credit card prior to arrival.

January to March 2025 and November and December 2024/2025:
Cancellations and modifications are free of charge until 6pm (Lisbon time), 7 days prior to the date of arrival. A fee equivalent to the 1st night’s stay will be charged during the 7 days prior to the date of arrival, for cancellation, late modification, no-show or early departure.

April* to October 2025/2026:
Cancellations and modifications are free of charge until 6pm (Lisbon time), 20 days prior to the date of arrival. A fee equivalent to the 1st night’s stay will be charged during the 20 days prior to the date of arrival, for cancellation, late modification, no-show or early departure.

*Between 17th and 19th April 2025:
Non-refundable deposit of 100% of the total charges required upon confirmation. Cancellations and changes can not be made without penalty after confirmation of the reservation.
